FCSI EAME conference 2024 in Zurich
Back from a two-day conference of the FCSI EMEA in Zurich on five, for the future relevant #EARTH topics. Loads of exciting lectures in the convention area of the architecturally remarkable Hyatt Regency Hotel Zurich Airport in The Circle. Inspiring tours of Hyatt’s kitchens and the urban farming company Umami. Great conversations with colleagues and business partners during breaks and over meals. Culinary highlights such as the vegetarian and vegan restaurant tibits in the center of Zurich and the rooftop restaurant Sablier by top-class restaurateur Markus Segmüller once again made a FCSI convention to an unforgettable event.

The Rosewood Hotel Schloss Fuschl – The Grand Opening
After two years of planning and four months site management I am once again very proud to have completed my work as a kitchen consultant and designer of my second Rosewood Project. I am overwhelmed to have been part of the planning team of this fantastic new project and to have helped to support the operator with designing of the Front of House F&B areas.
I wish every guest a lovely and unforgettable visit at this remarkable landmark and wish the team of Austria’s second Rosewood Hotel all the success within their future work.

The Rosewood Hotel Munich – The Grand Opening
After almost six years of planning and site management for the BoH/FoH Kitchens and Food & Beverage outlets of this superb hotel The Rosewood Munich has finally opened its doors to the public in October 2023. I am very proud to have been part of this project working together with a fantastic team. I am quite sure that all guests will enjoy a lovely and unforgettable visit at The Rosewood Munich and I hope the team will have lots of fun and success within their future work in the new kitchens.

At last after a four years break back in Hamburg at the internorga, the leading trade fair for the hospitality and restaurant industry. I sure missed the turmoil in the exhibition halls, the fine kitchen scents, the people, friends and colleagues. Good to be back! Good for the industry to be back.

FCSI EAME conference TACT22
A two-day seminar and conference event held north-east of the centre of Paris in Chantilly, France. At last, after two years of pandemic and after endless conference calls, my first face-to-face event with colleagues and friends at the FCSI EAME annual meeting #TACT22.
250 participants from twenty countries attended lectures and masterclasses held by inspiring speakers, on the issues “Sustainability and the Evolution of Society”. Interesting and intense discussions in combination with delicious, tasty food prooves once again the significance of the hospitality industry in our lives. So relieved the hospitality industry also managed to survive the past two years.

Hell’s Kitchen in Freiburg
iangrubbconsulting has moved internally into larger working spaces within the Villa in the Schwaighofstrasse 13. The address and contact details will remain the same. Since the beginning of the year, the architectural office Justies Architekten BDA has also joined the Art Nouveau Villa.
Despite the long-lasting pandemic, design and planning work continues more than ever.

The annual FCSI conference 2019 in Merano
A two-day seminar and conference event held in the spa town of Merano in South Tyrol. Together with180 members the association FCSI Germany-Austria celebrated its 20th anniversary. Many interesting lectures were held this year in the Theater of Merano. Among others by the extreme mountaineer Tamara Lunger, Anselm Bilgri a former Benedictine monk, economic director and prior of the Andechs monastery and Dr. Wolfgang Töchterle, the marketing director of South Tyrol. A visit to the SAVOY, the state vocational school for the hospitality industry, sparked interesting discussions, the visit to the local winery put us into good spirits.

New Office Location effective October 2019
October the 1st 2019 iangrubbconsulting will be moving into the new premises.
The new office is located in the southern part of Freiburg, in the lively and historic District Wiehre.
I am very much looking forward to work in the impressive and inspiring Art Nouveau villa, which I shall be sharing with the architects practice Technau Architekten, the structural engineers Kremp Ingenieurplanung and the advertising agency NIK:Werbeagentur.

An instructive, two-day seminar on the subject Wet Waste Disposal Systems in professional kitchens “Food leftovers: curse or blessing?” held in the resort Durbach, situated on the verge of the northern Black Forest and well known for its excellent Riesling wine. Interesting and extensive exchange with colleagues and friends.

The annual FCSI conference 2018 in Rotterdam
A two-day seminar and conference event held jointly for the first time with FCSI EAME on board the spectacular SS Rotterdam, a former Dutch passenger ship built in 1959, which is now used as a hotel ship with 254 cabins. A superb conference venue in the centre of Rotterdam, a vivid city packed with interesting restaurants, food outlets and food concepts, with the Markthal designed by MVRDV being one of the many highlights.

Kitchen Tour at the Munich Oktoberfest
A fascinating guided tour held by Michael Süssmeier visiting behind the scenes, the “Oktoberfest Kitchens”, a place of action while the beer tents are still in deep slumber. Per tent 50 to 60 cooks along with 1,600 waiters and waitresses distributed within the 95 restaurants located on the Oktoberfest premises accomplish a culinary and logistical masterpiece. Cheers to that!

A three-day visit at the Hamburg Trade Fair Internorga
This year, for the first time the Internorga (Innovative. Inspiring. International.) is no longer a “home match”, but as always a most successful and worthwhile visit with many events and terrific networking. One of the highlights: The annual FCSI fundraising run at the Hamburg Exhibition Center … especially when it does not rain.

Assignment for the Kitchen and Laundry Design for the Rosewood Hotel Munich
iangrubbconsulting is commissioned for planning the kitchen and laundry of the first Rosewood Hotel in Germany. I am very much looking forward to plan the kitchens of this prestige project in Munich, together with an amazing team of planners, as well as the client and operator.

Two days packed with seminars and conference events. Interesting hotel trend tour with visits to The Mandarin Oriental, Ruby Lilly, The Lovelace and the newly opened 25hours “The Royal Bavarian”. Further high-quality tours through the market Viktualienmarkt by the chef Manuel Reheis (owner of the restaurant Broeding) as well as tours in the Pschorr and Hofbräuhaus. Informative lectures by humans and the star guest “Pepper”.
