Sustainability is an important element in the planning of professional kitchens and laundries. Efforts to obtain the maximum energy efficiency in kitchen operation lead inevitably to an early choice of energy-saving kitchen and laundry equipment. In environmentally-conscious planning, the areas of ventilation, water and energy consumption, and waste disposal are critically reviewed and sensible solutions are evaluated. The goal is to make possible a well-rounded functional area with a low energy balance and thus low operating costs, as well as environmental protection for operator and investor.
Depending on the terms of the project, it is possible to participate in the planning of so-called “Green Buildings” by meeting the requirements of the DGNB (German Society for Sustainable Building) or by LEED certificates (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
